This short course presents a video detailing the role of the GDAS Clinical Team

This course contains two video presentations by Jo Moore (Registered Manager of Birchwood). They were recorded during our recent Community of Practice (Ketamine) and provide insight into the growing Ketamine use and it's associated problems. The second of the two is a case study detailing the devastating effects of Ketamine (in under 3 years) and, the potential for recovery with the appropriate level of support.

Mandatory training for all GDAS Members

This course covers an introduction to substances, their effects and harm reduction information for the 5 main categories of substance seen in Substance Use Service Service Users

By the end of the session, you will be able to:
–Describe the different and varied ways that substance misuse and safeguarding intersect
–Use a strengths based and safety focused approach to safeguarding GDAS Service Users and their families

This course is designed t0 look at the harms caused by substance misuse and the interventions we can suggest to minimise the associated risks.

The fact is people use and abuse both legal and illegal substances, this is unlikely to change.

People, however, at various times  do seek to make a change and by minimising risks we help them be in a position to do so,
